The world of hiking has always been split into two camps.
You’ve got the thru-hikers—the hardcore adventurers who disappear into the wild for weeks, chasing every mile like it’s a badge of honor.
And then you’ve got the section hikers, the ones who take it one piece at a time, collecting trails like chapters in a long story.
But me? I never quite fit into either.
I wasn’t trying to conquer a mountain. I was just trying to conquer my stress.
Back in 2020, when the world shut down and cabin fever became a global sport, I found myself craving something simple: fresh air. So I grabbed a pack, a handful of trail mix, and headed out to breathe again.
That’s when it hit me—there’s a whole group of us who hike not for distance, but for balance.
We’re not out there counting miles or posting summit selfies. We’re there to clear our heads, slow our pulse, and remind ourselves we’re alive.
So I came up with a name: The Villahiker.
A Villahiker doesn’t hike to escape life—they hike to feel it again. We’re the weekend warriors, the nature therapists, the ones who believe a quiet walk can do more good than a thousand motivational podcasts.
That moment of peace turned into a purpose, and that purpose became the Villahiker brand—a lifestyle built on outdoor comfort, mindfulness, and the idea that wellness can be as simple as stepping outside in a cozy hoodie and taking a deep breath.
And then one day, on a trail somewhere between “lost” and “found,” I met a cherry-eating bear named Bernie.
He was loud, hilarious, and somehow talking about starting a TV show.
Long story short, he did—and I became his Health & Wellness Correspondent and the official sponsor of El Show de Bernie.
Now we’re spreading laughter and good vibes together—one episode, one hike, and one deep breath at a time.
Because sometimes, the best therapy isn’t on a couch… it’s on a trail.
